Basic Evaluation Procedures for Abandoned and Vacant Buildings

Capt. Tony Tricarico (Ret) FDNY Special Operations Command has submitted a short training manual titled The Basic Evaluation of Abanoned and Vacant Buildings, published by FEMA and the U.S. Fire Administration. In view of the disaster that occurred in Baltimore, MD earlier this year, where three Firefighters lost their lives while operating in an abandoned building, it may be beneficial to review this document.
