Passing of Chuck Aughenbaugh

Deputy Fire Chief & Korean War Veteran

Charles Aughenbaugh, Jr., of Belleville, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, April 21, 2018.  Born in Jersey City, he had lived in Belleville for most of his life.  Chuck retired from the Belleville Fire Department as a Deputy Chief and proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.
The beloved husband of the late Barbara E. (Wilson) Aughenbaugh, he is survived by his children, Janice (Huber) Fox & her husband Dave and James R. Aughenbaugh & his wife Christine; 4 grandchildren, Kayla, Trevor, Jamie & Katie; and a brother, Douglas.  He was also the uncle of Charlie, Lisa & Sandra Lynn and the brother of the late Gregory.

The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home 267 Centre St., Nutley.

The interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital would be appreciated.

NOTE: Members of the NJDFCA are asked to muster up at 1830hrs on Wednesday May 25th at the funeral home for a walk through to pay our final respects to Chuck and his family.
